Despite his many flaws, Tom is chivalrous at heart, always doing his best to embody every tenant of chivalry: courage, loyalty, generosity, honesty... he has no trouble with those. Courtesy, however, can occasionally be a struggle, and he is not entirely above twisting the others in strange ways - except that he will never tell a lie, and perhaps above all else, he detests dishonesty.
Combined with his incredible prowess in battle, Tom's ferocity is his most terrifying trait. Tom has an insatiable appetite for knowledge, reading books obsessively and finding clever ways to defeat his enemies, regardless of how much foolish taunting is involved. He is also quite the inspiring leader and cunning tactician, willing to give his own life to protect all men serving him.
