Q1 2026 – 2025 Year in Review (public) + Looking Ahead (patron-exclusive) – Maegan A. Stebbins

I’m back! Today may be New Year’s Eve where I live, but I’m posting this early anyway. I hope everyone had a very merry Christmas and has a wonderful new year!

I bring good tidings for 2026! This post is a reflection back on 2025 and some of my major accomplishments, as well as a big look ahead to some things in store for 2026…

I’m so thankful for all my wonderful patrons who were with me for 2025 and previous years, as well as for all the new ones who have joined me recently! Thank you for being here, for reading my books, and for the lovely reviews! If you enjoy my work, I definitely encourage you to join my Patreon. I have so much in store, and I’m always excited to share things with patrons first or even exclusively. I have at least one short story underway that might ultimately become patron-exclusive, just like “Hollow Tree” still is. But don’t worry, if you can’t support me there (I certainly understand), I’ll of course always be publishing books as time goes on, too!

First off, let’s talk about 2025…

My MAIN accomplishments were obvious:

Relaunching Wulfgard: The Prophecy of the Six, Book I – Knightfall– Warning: this will be sappy: This is my greatest accomplishment to date. The 2025 edition of Knightfall is a fully revised and expanded, finalized edition of the story. This book starts The Prophecy of the Six, my main series and my life’s ultimate goal. This series is my soul, and Knightfall is its beginning. I truly hope, if you have ever enjoyed any of my work – fiction or nonfiction – or ever even considered giving me a chance, that you will read Knightfall. It is my everything, and it is my honor to humbly share it with the world. I lay my dreams at your feet. Tread lightly, for with this book you hold in your hands my heart, my soul, and all of my dreams. So, please give it a chance. You can still find the big announcement post for that here.
Publishing Wulfgard: The Demon’s Fang– Conceived as a “hook” story to hopefully grab readers, The Demon’s Fang is a standalone novella that leads into Knightfall. It’s available free as an ebook nearly everywhere you can get an ebook, and the paperback is as affordable as I can possibly make it. I’m very proud of this book, and in fact I think it includes some of the very best prose I have ever written, and it introduces one of Wulfgard’s single most important characters (Kye Vakurseth), an unlikely hero at constant war with the evil in his blood. Hopefully, by now, you’ve at least given this book a try! You can still find its announcement post here.
Publishing the hardcover edition of The Hunt Never Ends – I’ve been excited to offer more hardcovers of my fiction, so I was really looking forward to doing this! I think the book turned out beautifully. It’s one of my favorite printed editions I have published yet. The announcement post for that can be found here.
Shop openings and expansions – Opened a Ko-fi shop and expanded my website shop considerably!

And then there were other updates besides:

Price drops for both The Hunt Never Ends (paperback) and The Tomb of Ankhu – I brought the price of The Hunt Never Ends paperback down to $14.99 and the ebook of The Tomb of Ankhu to only $.99! The latter is in anticipation of the upcoming sequel…
A very important post detailing “WHAT IS WULFGARD?” – This is something I often feel is not clear enough to my followers and in general online, so I made a post attempting to elaborate and expand upon what exactly Wulfgard is and strives to be here.
Revised Werewolf Facts – I publicly shared my intention to spend the next couple of years revising ALL of my popular Werewolf Facts. I even shared a few here on the Patreon.
Returned free flash fiction and short stories to my website (including “Old Wounds” in its entirety, my werebear story) + made ebooks available to all patrons Huntmaster and up – This is something I hope to work on more in 2026 by adding more flash fictions, and maybe even some more short stories (?), but for the time being, I’m happy I returned it to my website. Hopefully some passers-by will be drawn in and explore my fiction.

Added a new product to my shop: journals – I think these very largely few under the radar, but I worked hard offering some blank journals through my website shop with Wulfgard (including werewolf, of course) artwork. These take a long time to ship, so the production time is mildly ridiculous over at Lulu (I do not fulfill these myself), but the final product is excellent!
Exclusive minifig offer of mummy Djedar Rath in October – This October, for Halloween, I offered an exclusive printed figure of mummy Djedar Rath. I’m still really happy with how he turned out! The offer is over now, of course, but it was fun.

Wulfgard: Hollow Tree – In March, I finished the “short story” that was kind of more a novella, “Hollow Tree,” my Patreon-exclusive Halloween story for 2024. That can be found under the Short Stories and Flash Fiction collection here on the Patreon, but here is the part 2 post, at least. Be sure to read part 1 first, if you haven’t, though.
Big Wulfgard: Knightfall trivia post – I really enjoyed writing this! It’s a big post of just some of the vast annals of trivia of older editions of Knightfall, including some old concept art.
MANY, MANY more flash fictions and prompt fills, including public ones toward the end of the year – I always have so much fun writing these. I wrote many last year and a wide variety, even including some sci-fi and modern day paranormal ones. Find all of them here in the collections!
Entirety of ROUGH draft of new novella, Wulfgard: A Dead Man’s Eye – I hammered this out in just a few days last year, and I’m really happy with it, even though I already know how it will be edited and expanded before publication. It’s still available to read exclusively on the Patreon, so don’t miss its three parts here, here, and here, including some art by Scorp!
Research Deep Dives – I continued various Research Deep Dives (a post series currently discontinued until further notice), including discussing the ancient Egyptian book of the dead and how it relates to Akhoman in Wulfgard and historical horse coat colors.
Assorted journals throughout the year – These include tons of writing journals, such as discussing my writing process, as well as journals on plush-making (something I do not do nearly often enough) and even an art journal, since I’m trying to get back into art.
